Private Trail Rides – Departing from Camp Grier

Explore the trails at Camp Grier and experience the beauty of the Pisgah National Forest on horseback. Our private guided trail rides offer two unforgettable options:

• 1-Hour Ride – $70
  A peaceful ride along creeks and forest paths—perfect for beginners or those short on time.
  
• 2-Hour Ride – $120
  A scenic adventure that leads to sweeping mountain vistas through the heart of the forest.

No experience necessary—we provide a quick introductory lesson before every ride. Plus, you’ll get to know the distinct personalities and stories of our horses as you ride.

Riding Lessons at Camp Grier

Our after-school riding lessons combine arena skills with trail exploration across Camp Grier’s beautiful forested property. Lessons are available Monday through Thursday and can be booked privately or in small groups. Horses, tack, and gear are all included.

Private Lessons

• 1 Hour – $55 per lesson

Group Lessons (2 or more riders)

• 1 Hour – $45 per person

We can help connect riders with similar skill levels and interests and assist with carpool coordination from Asheville-area schools.

Guided Trail Rides on the Gateway Trails

Saddle up for a guided ride through the Gateway Trail System, where well-maintained paths wind through temperate rainforest landscapes. With direct access from Camp Grier’s barn, it’s an ideal way to explore the region on horseback.

Horse Leasing – Onsite at Camp Grier

Want more time in the saddle? Lease a horse and enjoy full access to Camp Grier’s equestrian center, covered arena, jump courses, and trails connecting directly to Pisgah National Forest.

Leasing Options

• 2 Days/Week – $200/month
  
• 3 Days/Week – $300/month

All leases are month-to-month and include full use of the facility and trails. A minimum of two lessons per month is required (at standard rates: $45 group / $55 private).
Work-trade options may be available to offset leasing fees.
