Author John R. Lewis will present on Colonel Daniel W. Adams, an outstanding citizen of Old Fort, North Carolina. He was an architect, engineer, geologist, forester, inventor, soldier, patriot, innovator, and businessman. He was internationally known for his expertise in forest fire prevention and underground excavation. He was a very successful negotiator, making win-win negotiations of great value on a social scale, reaching from local laborers to national presidents. This one man developed native intelligence, education, and communication skills into many great achievements. Our speaker, John R. Lewis, has recently published a book about Colonel Adams. Born in Alabama, John Ronda Lewis moved to Old Fort, N.C. at the age of three, but the Lewis family relationship with the Adams family began in the 1930s and continues to the present time. John graduated from Old Fort High School and earned a B. S. in Civil Engineering. He worked for TVA for 29 years and advanced to a professional level in cadastral and engineering surveys and in stream flow technology. He enjoys retirement on the family farm in Alabama. ***This is a book signing event*** Author John R.
