Catawba Falls Trail Work & River Clean Up With Catawba River Keeper & REI

Cleaning up the trails and river around Catawba Falls with G5 and Catawba River keeper? Yes please! How about freebies from REI and a free afterparty at Foothills Watershed & Bike Park? Count us in! Join G5, C Riverkeeper, and REI for an unforgettable day of fun and service at our local waterfall!

We’ll gather at Foothills Watershed, then shuttle out to Catawba Falls. Once there, crews will split into groups:

• Trail Crew (RSVP with G5): Projects range from mellow to tough, depending on how you’re feeling that day. Tasks include repositioning signage, clearing brush near the parking area, and removing litter along the trail corridor and surrounding land.
• River Sweep Crew (RSVP with Riverkeeper): Suit up in waders to tackle trash in the Catawba River below the falls, or work along the river corridor collecting debris.

Why now? After Hurricane Helene, this work is more important than ever.

After the cleanup, the fun continues! We’ll shuttle back to Foothills Watershed for an after-party. BYOBB (bring your own beers and a bike) and enjoy the riverside vibe, session the bike park trails, or hit the dirt jumps with Mike, all for free (a $25 value). Foothills also offers bike rentals and food for purchase, so no worries if you do not bring your own.
