Join the McDowell Trails Association for a special Great Trails State Day celebration! Choose from two hiking options on the beautiful Fonta Flora State Trail, or join us for a group cycling ride.
Option 1: Depot to Depot (12 miles)
A one-way 12 mile hike from the Black Mountain Depot to the Old Fort Depot on the Fonta Flora State Trail (Copper Ridge and Point Lookout Trails) and along the proposed trail corridor.
This is a full-day adventure exploring the connection between two historic depot locations.
Option 2: Point Lookout Trail (5 or 7 miles)
An out and back hike on the Point Lookout Trail segment of the Fonta Flora State Trail. Choose your distance based on your comfort level and schedule.
Perfect for those who want a shorter hike while still experiencing the beauty of the trail system.
