First Day Hike - Black Bear Campground and Park

The McDowell Trails Association invites you to welcome the New Year with a purposeful and refreshing First Day Hike at Black Bear Campground and Park on Lake James, featuring a new segment of the Fonta Flora State Trail. This community event offers a chance to explore scenic trails, reconnect with nature, and bond with fellow outdoor enthusiasts while supporting local trail systems for a positive start to 2026.

We will hike in the afternoon, so sleep in after ringing in the new year and come out for this moderate 3 to 4 mile hike.
