McDowell 250 Speaker Series

Dr. Leslie Dula McKesson will speak on “Patriots and Plantations – More to the Story,” at 6 p.m. on February 5th in the Historic Marion Train Depot. Her talk is the next event in a year-long speaker series sponsored by the McDowell County America 250 committee. This and other America 250 events are free and open to the public. Dr. Leslie Dula McKesson is an adult educator and community engagement consultant. She retired from North Carolina's Community College System in 2018 after serving as an instructor and dean of an academic division. She enjoys using her passion for history and community engagement to help diverse populations build understanding and positive relationships.
