McDowell High School

Appalachian Potters Market is a regional holiday tradition hosting over forty pottery artists from across the Southeast, showing and selling their work. Attendees can expect a large variety of work, including functional, whimsical, and sculptural ceramics. All can be found on the show floor at a wide variety of price points and styles. Live music will be performed throughout the day by local folk-rock band Skiffle Creek and refreshments will be available for purchase from Kafe Neo Espresso Bar on-site in the Commons Area. All attending artists and market details can be found at mcdowellarts.org/apm. Admission is $5.00 for those 16 years and older - cash or card.

Accessibility: It is recommended that anyone utilizing a wheelchair, strollers, or mobility aids use Entrance #1 located at the main entrance of the school / front entrance of the Commons Area. This entrance will be clearly marked and has ramps accessing the parking lot. All areas of the market are accessible from this entrance while avoiding the stairs located at the Gym Entrance. If you have good knees, the upper Gym Entrance is Entrance #2. Parking: Parking is free at Appalachian Potters Market.

Visitors and craft enthusiasts may also want to visit McDowell Arts Council Association (MACA) the same day and enjoy the Blue Ridge Artisan Show & Sale at 50 S Main St. Marion, NC. Located 2.4 miles from Appalachian Potters Market, the Blue Ridge Artisan Show & Sale is an all-discipline holiday craft market hosted by McDowell County Artists in the gallery at MACA during the month of December.
