Our second Wine Flight Friday Night curated by the amazing Lexee of Marion Wines! *notice the time change! Lexee will be there to pour flights from 5-7pm but after that, you can continue to enjoy glasses and bottles served by our staff!* We have another great line up of wines, including a Zinfandel from one of my favorite wineries in California… Turley! (Cindi speaking) Also included is a sparkling wine, Gelida Cava of Vins El Cep from Spain, that you won’t want to miss! A direct quote from our distributor about this special wine: “I'm completely obsessed with the Gelida. Female winemaker, 48 months on the lees, organic and biodynamic 35-60 year old vines. And the winemaker, Maite (MY-tay) Esteve, is a grade a bada** - she's the grower, winemaker, CFO, label designer, marketer, and director of sales. And it drinks like a Champagne.” As two female business owners ourselves, we are excited to enjoy wine from someone who fits the description above! And we were given the last of the bottles they have in stock so get it while you can! We will also be serving up a crisp and fresh Pinot Grigio from San Piettro and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Noah River Winery! It’s going to be a good night! A little wine education: In winemaking, “lees” refers to the sediment at the bottom of a barrel or bottle after fermentation. • When a wine is aged “on the lees” (French: sur lie), it is left in contact with this sediment. • This can add richness, creaminess, and complexity to the wine (common with Champagne and some Chardonnays).
